2. Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted on a managed server at Hetzner. When you visit the website, technically necessary server log data may be processed, including IP address, date and time, requested file, referrer, browser type and operating system. These data are used to operate the website securely and reliably and to diagnose technical errors.
3. Contact form
If you use the contact form, we process the information you enter (name, email address, topic and message) in order to answer your enquiry. The form uses a technically necessary PHP session only for abuse prevention and rate limiting.
4. Amazon book sample
The website can display Amazon’s eBook and paperback samples inside polapolarium.com. The Amazon preview is loaded only after your active consent. Once loaded, a connection to Amazon is established. Amazon may receive technical data such as your IP address and browser information and may use cookies or similar technologies. Your choice to load the preview during the current session is stored only in your browser’s session storage and is discarded when the session ends.
5. Instagram
No Instagram feed or social-media plugin is embedded. The site only contains a normal link to the Polapolarium Instagram profile. Data are sent to Instagram/Meta only if you follow that link.
6. Cookies, analytics and external fonts
Polapolarium does not use web analytics or advertising services and does not load external fonts. No analytics or marketing cookies are set during a normal page visit. Technically necessary session data may be created when the contact form is used. Third-party cookies may be set only after you explicitly load the Amazon preview.
7. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you may have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may withdraw consent for the future and may lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.
8. Changes
This privacy policy may be updated when the website’s functions or technical services change.
